Important: Onboarding begins at the start of each month.

12/17/24 Please note that we’ve experienced an influx of attention and interest, and membership dues are nonrefundable. If you prefer to wait and see which affiliates successfully complete onboarding before applying, new affiliates are updated at the end of each month beginning in January. This is to avoid any overlap, as someone may have already applied for the area you’re interested in.

Please note: If you apply on or before the 15th of the month, your onboarding will begin the following month. If you apply after the 15th, your onboarding will start the month after next.


Once you have submited your application, you will recieve an email from onboarding@hotmessexpress.co. Please be sure to check your spam folder.

The onboarding process for new Hot Mess Express affiliates begins with completing this interest form, followed by receiving onboarding approval and welcome packet.

Over the course of four weeks, affiliates will gain access to training workshops, the HME app, and receive guidance on financial management and community engagement, culminating in final approval and ongoing support.

Throughout the process, affiliates set up legally and financially, create a Facebook page and Google account, and adhere to HME's rules and guidelines.

Our Affiliates operate under a Fiscal Sponsorship:

  • Affiliates operate under HME's nonprofit status, benefiting from its legal compliance framework and support.

  • HME helps affiliates stay compliant with IRS and state requirements, handling the more complex administrative tasks so affiliates can focus on helping their communities.

Membership Dues:

  • Our membership dues are:
    $15 per quarter, or $60 per year. [Jan, Apr, Jul, Oct]

  • Benefits of paying membership dues include; access to training resources and ongoing support with our Affiliate Support Team, inclusion in HME's marketing and promotional efforts, connection with a network of like-minded affiliates, our monthly HME newsletter filled with helpful and fun information!

Affiliate Levels:

  • Level 1: 

    • Suitable for Affiliates with minimal fundraising involvement​

    • Focus on maintaining legal compliance with basic requirements

  • Level 2: 

    • Designed for Affiliates with moderate fundraising activities​

    • Requires enhanced financial oversight and compliance

Upon submission of application you will receive a welcome email including an initial questionnaire and our Affiliate Handbook to review.

Self-paced Virtual Onboarding:

1. Initial Documentation and Setup

    • Signed Handbook and Partnership Agreement Form

    • Submitted Initial Questionnaire Form

    • Submitted Driver’s License

2. Training and Workshops

 

    • Introduction to Hot Mess Express Workshop [approx. 15 minutes]

    • Leadership Workshop [approx. 15 minutes]

    • Mission Safety Workshop [approx. 15 minutes]

    • Portal Workshop [approx. 5 minutes]

3. Applications and Agreements

 

    • Signed Affiliate Agreement 

    • Introductory Interview

    • Affiliate Facebook Page created

    • Marketing and promotional material provided

    • Affiliate introduced to the HME pages

    • Receive ongoing support from the HME Team!
